Create an IP67 Infrared (IR) Data Transfer Cable Assembly with isolated IR emit/receive signals and USB Type A connection.
The IR emitter/receiver side of the cable assembly needed to be IP67 watertight, isolate emit/receive signals, and survive the cable assembly and overmolding process.

Design Using Knowledge & Experience :
MNR used an inner mold operation to create a water protection barrier and secure the lens in place regardless of external environmental conditions.
Using a lower temperature standard molding procedure for the inner mold operation helped MNR to ensure there was no damage to either the lens or the critical electrical components regardless of external environmental conditions

Overmolding
A final overmolding operation was used to create an IP67 seal for the required final shape for customer end use.
Connectors: The opposite end of the cable was specified to terminate to a standard USB Type A connector.
